Wedding Wednesday: Catherine & Joseph

4/16/2016  | The Prado

Catherine and Joseph met during their interim year of medical residency in New Orleans. The vibrant, musical city was the backdrop to our blossoming love story, which included gentlemanly courting with flowers on her doorstep and homemade dinners. So it was only natural that they wanted to ensure their wedding day had a strong New Orleans component. For them, this meant bread pudding instead of traditional wedding cake and a fantastic surprise for our guests: a second line parade down the promenade outside The Prado! This New Orleans tradition included custom made parasols and required much planning, especially for their stellar band who worked hard to learn the energetic tunes that lead the parade. As a final nod to the crescent city, the wedding favors included traditional pralines. The couple was also able to include elements of Catherine's Jewish heritage by incorporating items they selected together in Israel to start their new life together, using tallit they purchased in Jerusalem as their chuppah and lighting a candle from Tzfat during their elegant reception.
