6/5/2015  |  Del Mar Resort - Camp Pendleton

June 5th turned out to be an amazing sunset evening on the beach for Raychel and Michael. They picked Del Mar Resort - Camp Pendleton as their venue due to the beautiful location and perfect weather year-round. they invited their closest friends and family and it was a very intimate ceremony and reception. The venue was very private and it allowed for both of their families to fly in to enjoy their big day!

Ask Abby: Is China Still an Acceptable Wedding Gift?

Short Answer: Absolutely!!

Photo from Celebrity China & Cookware

Every couple should own a full set of china. Whether you bring it out on Thanksgiving, for the holidays or a fancy dinner party, it's a wonderful wedding gift that you can enjoy with family and friends and even potentially pass down to family members later in life. It's a timeless gift, normally gifted by parents or grandparents but you can help pick out a pattern that will be cherished for years to come!

Wedding Wednesday: Heather & Daniel

9/26/2015  |  The Ultimate Skybox

Heather and Daniel's wedding was untraditional, if you can say that for a very traditional event such as a marriage..They wanted a day that was just as much about their loved ones, as it was them. The couple wanted their ceremony to be fun, light, and full of laughter and emotion. When they went to look at the Ultimate Skybox for a reception venue, they knew that was their wedding spot the second they saw it. It was unique, and they could instantly visualize their party in that rooftop space, and it showcased the bride's hometown better than we could have hoped for! It was the perfect layout for them to have the "moving reception" style that they desired. There was no assigned seating, and the room was a mix of high farm tables, belly bar tables, and lounge seating. They had several different food stations that allowed for a cozy and more 'party' like atmosphere. Heather and Daniel had a sushi station, which has been on their "must have" list for as long as they could remember.

Wedding Wednesday: Laurie & Jason

7/11/2015  |  Paradise Point Resort & Spa

Laurie and Jason live in Hawaii but their friends and family live on the mainland across the US. Instead of having people pay to fly to Hawaii, they brought Hawaii to San Diego. The couple filled their day with tropical and Hawaiian touches from doing lei exchanges and traditional Hawaiian blessings, to having colorful tropical flowers all over, and for their first dance they surprised everyone with a hula they worked on for several months with a distinguished hula teacher in Hawaii. The couple's guests enjoyed the fireworks from Sea World and it reminded them of the fireworks we see each week from Waikiki. San Diego was the closest they could get to Hawaii so they took it!

Mangia Monday: Seating Chart

Photo from Eco Caters

Once your invitations have gone out and you begin receiving RSVPs, then comes the game of musical chairs while you configure a seating plan. You can go with round tables, rectangular tables, picnic tables, there are many options.

One thing you'll need to decide with your caterer is are you going to do a sit down dinner, buffet style, or hand passed food. This will help you determine whether you need to make an actual seating chart. If you are doing a seating chart, try to take into consideration who knows who and if there is any family drama to separate people.

If you're doing buffet style, you can do a seating chart or you can let everyone sit where they want. It totally depends on the atmosphere you're trying to have at your wedding. Seating chart says more formal while sit wherever says more relaxed. Take some time to discuss these with your fiancé and decide which options best suit you as a couple and your wedding.

Wedding Wednesday: Betty & John

4/19/2015  |  Scripps Seaside Forum

It was a destination wedding for Betty and John - they live in Seattle and all but two guest traveled to San Diego. They planned out wedding from Seattle and decided on Scripps and San Diego due to their love for the beach and ocean. The wedding was elegant and simple, but beautiful. The groom did a wardrobe change into Capri shorts that matched his suit. But that outfit did not last long because the groom and about fifteen of his crazy friends decided to go into the ocean at about 9:30pm, and then take a group picture in the photo booth soaking wet. (we did clean up all the water, and this was not planned!)
