Wedding Wednesday: Elizabeth & Joe

12/16/2015  |  US Grant Hotel  |  Walter Wilson Studios Inc.

Elizabeth and Joe are one of those couples that you just love to work with! They met years back because of the association they each have to horse racing.  Joe Talamo is a very successful race horse jockey and Elizabeth is the daughter of renowned horse trainer Ronald Ellis.  A match made in heaven!
We started off the day photographing at the US Grant Hotel in downtown San Diego.  This is where Elizabeth was staying and getting ready with all her bridesmaids and family.  You wouldn't believe how low stress and fun this bridal suite was.  Stories and laughter filled the room and my 2nd photographer, Edward and I, were made to feel like family.  Elizabeth was so at ease and it really showed in some of the beautiful bridal portraits I took prior to the ceremony.
The elegant ceremony took place at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.  It was a packed house as all of Elizabeth and Joe’s family and friends filled the beautiful church in Little Italy.  Soon we were off to Point Loma to an amazing venue called Brick.  The gorgeous venue sits in what once a naval training station facility in the very early part of the 1900’s.  The property was absolutely stunning!  Open rafters gave room to 20 foot ceilings and all the walls were constructed of beautiful brick.
The reception was an absolute blast!  The guest cerebrated Elizabeth and Joe’s love for each other late into the night.  My favorite part was the dancing.  It seemed as though every person was on the dance floor and at times I was buried in so deep that I had to dance my way out from the center.
Elizabeth and Joe, It’s because of couples like you that I love what I do so much!  I wish you two so many wonderful years of happiness!  You’re both are such great people and it was a true pleasure working with you!
