Wedding Wednesday: Debbie & Josue

Los Willows is owned by a retired Marine Colonel, Al Ransom, and his wife Cathie. The couple pledged to make a difference in the lives of our country's warriors. Just this past January, Los Willows rallied local wedding vendors and hosted a $50,000 dream wedding for a 3/5 Marine who lost a leg and an eye when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was attempting to help a fellow Marine in Afghanistan. Barron was hurt in late October 2010, just days into his first combat deployment. He and Debbie Salazar had married in a quick courthouse ceremony before Barron deployed, but had vowed to family and friends that they would have a more traditional wedding after his return from Afghanistan. Instead, they had to focus on Josue's recovery and rehabilitation.

When the owners of Los Willows learned of the couple's story, they decided to rally several local vendors together and give Debbie and Josue the wedding of their dreams. Debbie and Josue renewed their vows at Los Willows. Cathie Ransom, co-owner of Los Willows, said, "Al and I were truly honored to offer Los Willows for a wounded warrior's dream wedding. There is not enough we can do for these young soldiers that have put their lives on the line for our nation. What is truly inspiring is how these magnificent wounded warriors have stood up and faced their injuries and the inner strength that keeps them so positive about their future, their military brothers in arms, and America."

We couldn't agree more! The wedding was photographed beautifully by Shadowcatcher Imagery.
