Til Death Do Us Part: A Halloween Wedding

With Lake Hodges as their backdrop, beautiful pumpkins, fall leaves, dark red roses, some tasty desserts and even some wine, this inspirational photo shoot will catch any eye. The creative invitations featuring Casper and Mary as Halloween-like groom and bride make for a fun look! The model opting for a black dress instead of a white one was a twist that works perfectly for a Halloween-style wedding. Farm Tables & More did an amazing job styling this shoot (and are very excited about it!), and we can't wait to see what's in store for their next seasonal shoot!

The Wedding Shoot
Farm Tables and More is a new wedding rental company based out of San Diego, CA. It began when the owner's (Mike and Natasha) daughter, Rufina, got married in March 2012. She deeply wanted some farm tables for her rustic wedding, and without finding some to rent out, her dad Mike made 16 farm tables for the wedding as a wedding present. At Rufina and Ray's wedding, onlookers would stop by and ask where they rented the tables. Mike and Natasha quickly realized the need for the tables and opened their own business.  Since March 2012, couples all around Southern California have desired that same look and FT&M has come through and provided rustic rentals! This photo shoot, designed by Rufina and Natasha, is a fun, seasonal project they enjoyed with some of their favorite vendors!

Wedding Wednesday: Shannon & Jason Frederickson

Shannon met Jason at a local pub shortly after moving to San Diego. A romantic mountain top, sunset proposal was such a surprise to Shannon she burst out laughing before being able to accept. Unfortunately, the weather on their wedding day wasn't quite as perfect for their outdoor ceremony at Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club, but at least it didn't rain! Inside the candlelit reception was very romantic. They only wish it could have lasted longer!

Venue Background
Hotel del Coronado has enjoyed more than 120 years of legendary romance. King Edward VIII of England gave up his throne to marry the former Coronado housewife Wallis Simpson (it is rumored they may have met at The Del during Edward's 1920 visit). And, the love story Bid Time Return took place at the Del, which brought together Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour in the movie version Somewhere in Time.

Add to this romantic legacy the hotel's sun-drenched beaches, moonlit ocean views, spectacular setting, impeccable service and award-winning cuisine and it's easy to see why the Travel Channel named The Del the #1 best place to get married in the U.S. The resort offers a variety of wonderful ceremony and reception settings including the elegant Ballroom with views of the Pacific, the historic Crown Room with chandeliers designed by Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum, the picturesque Garden Patio and the seaside Windsor Lawn.

How would you describe the atmosphere of Hotel del Coronado in three words?
Oceanfront, Breathtaking, One-of-a-Kind

What makes Hotel del Coronado stand out as a wedding venue?
The Del offers a variety of unique indoor and outdoor wedding settings for extravagant to intimate ceremonies and receptions.

What spaces are available for ceremonies and receptions? How many people can you accommodate?
The Del offers a variety of wedding settings from a fairytale beachfront ceremony, with an oceanfront Ballroom or historic Crown Room reception for up to 600 people to an intimate wedding/ reception on the Vista Walk or Garden Patio, The Del has the perfect venue for that special day. The wedding ceremony and reception pairing are endless.

Is there in-house catering?
Yes, we have five professional Catering Managers on site to create the perfect wedding day.

Is there a day-of coordinator?
Yes.

How would you describe the Hotel del Coronado experience?
The Del offers a one-of-a-kind setting with an unparalleled beachfront location. There are no pairings like it for an unforgettable wedding ceremony and reception.

What is one important piece of advice you would like to share with couples in choosing a wedding venue?
After celebrating 125 years of romance, there is only one Hotel del Coronado for that special day.

Mangia Monday: Bring on the blues baby!

Who said pasta has the be the same old pale shells with red sauce? Feast On This catering laughs in the face of conformity. Their absolutely delectable blue shell pasta with baby clams and farm raised mussels were quite the hit at this year's annual release party for San Diego Style Weddings Magazine!
