After meeting on a blind date set up by mutual friends, Ala Wheelock felt so pleased with her first date with Ulysses Garza that she invited him to join her for a friend’s upcoming wedding. Little did she know that this man would accompany her on her own wedding day. A typical weekend hike turned into a rose petal laden journey to reach her boyfriend, who had sped ahead of her and then knelt down and asked her to marry him at the top of the mountain. Three and half quick months later, the couple had their dream garden wedding at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel.
