Rock Your Ring

The wedding rings that the bride and groom end up selecting will serve as lasting symbols of their commitment to each other. They are a tangible representation of their love and dedication to one another. Long after the cake has been eaten, the flowers wilted, and the music fades away, the wedding rings remain. Realizing what an important element of the wedding experience the wedding rings are should impact brides and grooms as they choose their rings.

Real Wedding

Erin + Darrin

Erin, being an event planner for a party rental company, knew what she wanted her wedding to look like long before the proposal actually came. She and Darrin booked the beautiful and natural Crossings at Carlsbad, where they had their ceremony overlooking the ocean. They said their vows under a beautiful and stunning canopy made of branches and accented with magnolia blossoms. Guests then moved into the club ballroom for the reception where the candlelit room was filled with colorful blooms in shades of green, yellow and white. Specialty linens and charger plates all coordinated to make the romantic setting. The couple loved the thought and time that was put into their toasts from the Best Man and Maid of Honor, and knew they were truly from the heart. Erin knew many of the vendors since she has been in the industry for several years, making her planning more fun and easy as she felt like she was working with family.

Fabulous Friday!

I know it is a little earlier but I just can't help myself...I CANNOT wait to see Sex and the City 2. I have heard mixed reviews but I'm not letting anything get to me, I will still attend and watch regardless of any line; it is the American thing to do! Did I mention how excited I am?  I feel a surge of fashion inspiration as we speak.

Styles in Bloom

Photo provided by Brown Eyed Belle

Floral patterns are everywhere you look this season and everyone has their personal feeling of this fashion staple coming back but I happen to LOVE it! You don't have to totally cover your self in a floral pattern to get this season's freshest look. Here are a couple of ways to add the girly look without looking like an outdated curtain.  Accessories are great for the shrinking violets that are afraid to make the statement or commitment to get that look!

Just in Time

This is such a cute idea from Ritzy Bee just in time for race season in Del Mar! I love this photo inspiration because you can really dress it up for a wedding or even use this exact idea for an event to do with your guest before the wedding. Let me know what you think!

Favorite Things, His Edition

This is such a cute idea for my traditional brides that want to take the Groom's Cake a step further. Instead of doing the groom's cake at the wedding, this bride did had it at her rehearsal dinner and even did a favorite things for the groom. The guest dinned on pizza, root beer and cheesecake. This would only work if you put a cute spin on all the details; it can turn out to be really fun and unexpected. It's cool that the rehearsal dinner was for the groom and the wedding more for the bride! What do you think?

Real Wedding

Sara + Davis

Since both Sara and Davis love the beach, they chose Torrey Pines State Park for their ceremony. They picked aqua and cherry red as their colors to accompany their travel themed reception hosted at The Museum of Contemporary Arts in La Jolla. Many of the guests were from out of town, so the couple invited them to a whole weekend of events.

Wedding Gift Registries

It is that time of year when ever weekend is filled with bridal showers and weddings with summer just around the corner that I thought I would help brides and guest alike with a little blog about registry. If you are looking for a gift for an upcoming wedding or looking for a bride who is super organized, here is a couple of things to keep in mind.

1. It is etiquette to purchase a gift that is, at least, equivalent to the cost of your present at a wedding...just do a mental tally favor, drink, food etc.
2. So many things have changed with registry and different accounts that brides set up with honeymoon funds etc however; the most common gift is china
3. Referring back to number two, because there are so many registries online, a lot of people don't like to just electronically just put money in an account and not have anything physical to give...think outside the box, sign the happy couple up for fun cooking classes. Chances are if they are signing up for honeymoon accounts or other unique registries, they will love something spontaneous.

The Original Runner Co.

When planning my wedding in San Diego, some of the items I thought would be the easiest ended up be the hardest...never saw that one coming. Literally out of all the things to do, the hardest item on my checklist was the aisle runner. I looked far and wide and granted I was not the bride constantly searching the web because I had to do work and wrap up other things...life doesn't stop which makes me think the should be some type of leave you can go on when planning a wedding but that is for another blog day. Anyhoo, I found this company which does AMAZING runners that are not too traditional and fairly prices...some of them are hand painted! Click here to see more!
